This Tuesday my little brother, Derek, goes in to start his bone marrow transplant. It is going to be a long process. He has to be in the hospital for a while before he can get it. My oldest brother, Jason, is his donor. It is one of those times I am thankful for a big family. There are nine kids in my family. We were all tested as potential matches and there were 2 that were matches.
My little brother has Hotchkins Linphoma. He has had it for a while now. The problem is that it likes him. It just does not want to go away. We are all hopefully and prayerful that it will work.
I am so thankful for the knowledge my family has in our Father in Heaven plan. We have faith in him. Derek has been amazing through the whole struggle. He never lost his sense of humor or let anyone see his pain. His faith is an inspiration to me. I love him very much. Good luck!!!!

Running again
I have not gone for a run since last weekend. Which was Ragnar. A good friend, Katie, got me to go for a bike tide yesterday. THANK YOU!!! It is just what I needed to get me going. I spent last week not exercising and eating junk. Needless to say I didn't feel all that great. Yesterday was the ender. I was able to run and ride today and I feel so much better. It is amazing how exercise does that.

Toenail Fairy?
We all know who the Tooth Fairy is. When you put a lost tooth under your pillow she will come in the middle of the night, take it, and leave money. Not a bad trade. :)
In the Foote family there is another kind of fairy. The Toenail Fairy. The Toenail Fairy, like the tooth fairy comes at night. You also leave the toenail under your bed. In the morning there will be a surprise! A new movie!!
Sydney must have smashed her big thumb toe because when we went skiing a few weeks ago here boots managed to wiggle it loose. We could see the new nail growing under the now loose toe nail. So of course Daddy tells her all about the Toenail Fairy. So she put it under her pillow. Two nights and no show. So she decided to try under the bed. Well this morning it came. A brand new movie for Syd. It is Soul Surfer. She was so happy that it worked and finally came.
Here's to any other falling of toenails!!! Bring us some good movies!!

First time skiing!!
We had so much fun. The girls really picked it up. Sydney was fast and fearless. Taylor was a little slower but in the end was fast. Hailey was a pro by the end of the first day. We are so thankful that we could take them and spend time together as a family.

Skiing in Utah
Today is the first day of ski lessons for me and the girls. I wonder who will fall the most, me or them. Probably me. We are all excited to learn.
These are some pictures from yesterday. I will get some more up tonight. Some sledding and a few of Sydney playing with my phone. And one at Glen Canyon Dam.

Or Elf Buddy
This is Buddy. He is our elf on a shelf. He keeps an eye on the girls and reports back to Santa. Each day we have to find him. This is what he has been up to the last couple of days.

Grumpy
I tried to get a picture of Hailey this morning. She is grumpy because I won't put frosting or sprinkles on her muffin for breakfast.

The tree that make the whole house smell like Christmas!
Last year we decided to get ride of our tree. It was a hand me down from Scott's parents. It was not to bad but we wanted a new one. The problem was that we have this beautiful base. The part that holds the tree. And it would only work with a certain kind of tree. Which we could not find. The fake trees all have built in legs. So we have not gotten a new one.
So last year I heard that a friend of mine does something fun! Her family buys a permit and goes up to the mountain and cuts their own tree down. How fun!! So I told Scott. So we got rid of the tree and this year bought our first permit!!
Last weekend we drove to Payson, to the snow, to get our tree. But we had some bumps along the way. The road was closed so we had to drive a little farther, then on the way in, on the dirt road, we came to some cars that were starting to back up. ????? We talked to them and they said they were turning around because the road was so icy that their four wheel drive could not make it. So of course we turned around to head back. We were in the minivan. Definatly not four wheel drive. But on the way out we came to more stopped cars. What was going on!? Scott went to look and it turned out that a truck with a trailer had come around the turn to fast and almost went of the side, and the truck behind it hit the truck as well. The road was blocked, both ways.
So we waited, the girls played in the snow, and we made sandwiches. Finally after the kids had frozen and changed and started snacking the truck was finally moved. It took about an hour.
So we were finally on the hunt for a tree. We got a beautiful one!!
And if course the picture of the bread sticks, we stopped at pizza factory for pizza and bread sticks. The the best bread sticks ever!!
It was a fun day, and we will for sure do it again next year!

Sydney turns 9!!
Sydney turned 9 last week. She wanted a soccer cake. She also wanted for her birthday her room redecorated with a soccer theme. We hung a soccer net on the wall, the rest will be a work in progress.
Sydney is so amazing. We are so lucky to have her in our family. Live you little girl!!!

Temple lights
We went to the temple light last night with the Foote family. Scotts brother and his family were I town and last night was their last night. It was great to see them.
The temple was beautiful this year. It is every year but there was something special last night, not sure why. It was a slow night too. We went at 6 pm and the rush was not there yet. They also moved the program to the other side of the temple so you can see the reflecting pond. That is one of my favorite parts at the temple, and with the lights, it was ever better. Hailey was amazed. It has been a while since we were down there with the kids. And they have never really been able to see the reflecting pond like that, the chairs are always there.
When we were done we got hot chocolate and went back to grandmas and papas for doughnuts and cider. It was a nice night.

One more thing about Tay!
She was in her school Spelling Bee!!! She was so excited. She didn't get very far. :( She knew her word, but she was soooo nervous. She missed it. She was so sad. So I took her to get a ice cream at Sonic. It was great. She needed some one on one time. I love ya kiddo!!

Ward Christmas party.
There was a talent show at the ward Christmas party this year. Tay played the violin. She is getting a lot better. I love to hear her. She is really loving it. Almost everyday she goes in her room and pratices. I don't even have to ask. I am so proud of her.
Our family loves the movie "Elf" we laugh out loud every time. So when a girl in our ward painted this I couldn't resist! Here is Buddy Hailey!

Sydney's baptism
Sydney got BAPTIZED!!! She has been so excited. It was such a great day! Most of our families were there and we had a great lunch after. Thank you to everyone for coming.
We are so thankful for Sydney. She is such an amazing girl. She is kind and loving, but feisty and ornery. She is a great kid!! She is a great example to us.

Update!!
So if you look down about 2 posts you will see the pictures of the prey mantis. He has been living in our back yard. We have found him on the house, on the swing set, in the garage, and a few other places. Well, we were outside the other day and I said to the kids, "lets try to find him" to which Tay says "We can't, Syd killed him". WHAT!! They said he "made his wings big at them" so they chopped off his head. :( Poor thing. I hope no more come live in our yard, for their own good.

The boys!
We sure miss Austina and Brandon. They are our nephews who came and stayed with us earlier this year. It was tough having them, but great at the same time. Now we video chat with them. It is not nearly as good, but tides the girls over for a while.
